The Congress will be held in the Stamp Student Union at the University of Maryland.

During ISAM 2025, the main blue front entrance (see map below) to the Stamp Student Union will not be accessible. While this is not ideal, several convenient alternate entrances are available depending on how you arrive to campus. Please review the guidance below and plan your route accordingly.

The map below shows all four color-coded entrances. The blue entrance is closed, but signage and ISAM volunteers will be on hand to help guide you to the correct location.

Primary Entrances

🟣 Purple Entrance (Alternate Front Entrance): This is the first entrance guests will encounter when walking from The Hotel at the University of Maryland. There are two levels of doors — please use the upper level and proceed to the first floor.

🟠 Orange Entrance (Back Basement Entrance): Recommended for attendees parking in the Regents Drive Garage. Enter through the basement-level doors, take the elevator to the first floor, and then walk toward the front of the building.

🔴 Red Entrance (Side Entrance): This entrance is best for those parking in the Union Lane Garage. Enter at the side of the building and go up the half flight of stairs or use the elevator to reach the first floor.

🔵 Blue Entrance (Main Front Entrance): This entrance will be closed for the duration of ISAM 2025. Please use one of the alternate entrances noted above.

ISAM staff and signage will be available throughout the building to assist you.

What’s the weather like in June? What should I pack?

  • Expect very warm and humid conditions with daytime highs around 95°F (35°C) and only slightly cooler evenings around 75°F (24°C).
  • Most sessions are held indoors in air-conditioned spaces, which may be chilly—bring a light sweater or jacket.
  • Several activities require walking between buildings, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
  • Stay hydrated: Bring a refillable water bottle and take advantage of hydration stations around campus.
  • Scattered afternoon thunderstorms are possible Sunday and Monday. These tend to be brief but may include heavy rain—an umbrella or light rain jacket might come in handy.
  • If you have any mobility concerns, please contact us so we can assist with arrangements.

How do I get around once I’m in the area?

  • Ride services like Uber and Lyft operate in and around campus.
  • The DC Metro Green Line stops at the College Park–University of Maryland Station, offering convenient access.

Where can I park if I'm driving to campus?

  • Union Lane Garage (ULG): Closest and most convenient option. Metered parking available from 7:00 AM to 12:00 midnight at $4/hour (max $20/day). Pay at kiosk or via the ParkMobile app (license plate required).
  • Regents Drive Garage (RDG): Backup option with metered guest parking on the top floor only.
  • EV and handicap spaces: Available in both garages with clear signage.
  • Weekend parking: Free in surface Lots 1b, Z, and JJ2/3.

What is the dress code?

  • Business casual attire is recommended for all Congress activities, including the Gala Reception.
  • Bring a light jacket or sweater, as indoor venues may be air-conditioned and cool.

What is the Gala Reception and how do I attend?

  • Date: Tuesday, June 24
  • Time: 7:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • Location: The Hall CP, 4656 Hotel Drive, College Park, MD 20742 (map)
  • Enjoy an evening of food, drinks, and celebration with fellow attendees and colleagues from around the world.
  • If you opted in during registration, your gala ticket will be provided at check-in.
  • If you did not opt in but would like to attend, please email us to purchase a ticket in advance or purchase at the reception desk. Space is limited!

What are the guidelines for poster presenters?

  • Poster size should not exceed 4 feet by 4 feet (1.2m x 1.2m). Portrait or landscape orientation is acceptable.
  • Posters should be printed and brought to the conference site.
  • Push pins will be available onsite for mounting posters.
  • Please plan to display your poster for the entire duration of the Congress.
  • Posters have been grouped by topic to facilitate discussions during chaired sessions from 3–4 PM:
    • Sunday, June 22: CMC Reg & Formulations
    • Monday, June 23: Environmental/Occupational Exposure & Devices/Novel Therapies
    • Tuesday, June 24: Pediatrics/CF/Clinical & Imaging/Modeling
  • Please be present at your poster during your assigned chaired session time and try to attend other sessions to discuss your work further.

What should I know if I’m giving a flash talk?

  • Flash talks are limited to 3 minutes, with 1 minute for Q&A and 1 minute for the introduction.
  • The 3-minute limit will be strictly enforced—practice ahead!
  • We recommend 3 slides (maximum of 5) to highlight key takeaways from your poster.
  • Do not attempt to present all poster data—focus on the main message.
  • Email a PowerPoint or PDF file of your flash talk to abbie@abbieandcompany.com before the Congress so it can be preloaded onto the podium computer.

What should I know if I’m giving an oral talk?

  • Follow any instructions given by your session chair.
  • Email your PowerPoint or PDF presentation to abbie@abbieandcompany.com before the Congress so it can be preloaded onto the podium computer.
  • Be sure to rehearse and stay within your allotted time. If your session allows for Q&A, plan accordingly and leave time for audience questions.
