The NTUH International Convention Center is centrally located in Taipei, adjacent to National Taiwan University Hospital and surrounded by key government and cultural landmarks. With easy access via the MRT (NTU Hospital and Shandao Temple stations) and major bus routes, the venue offers both convenience and connectivity. The district is historically rich and professionally vibrant, within walking distance of the Presidential Office, National Chiang Kai‑shek Memorial Hall, 228 Peace Memorial Park, and a variety of dining and lodging options.

Conference Spaces

ISAM Congress events will be held on the second floor of the NTUH Conference Center. The main scientific sessions will take place in a spacious, well-appointed room. The large central lobby will serve as the exhibition area and venue for evening receptions. Posters will be displayed in two designated viewing rooms. Additional breakout rooms will be available to host special events.

Hotels

There is a wide range of hotel accommodations available near the NTUH International Convention Center. Three hotels are within easy walking distance of the venue.

 

Transportation

Getting to the NTUH International Convention Center

Attendees should plan to fly into Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), Taipei’s main international gateway. From the airport, there are two convenient ways to reach the NTUH International Convention Center:

  • Airport MRT + Taipei MRT: Take the Airport MRT from TPE to Taipei Main Station (about 40 minutes). From there, transfer to the Taipei MRT system:
    • Red Line (Tamsui–Xinyi): NTU Hospital Station, Exit 2
    • Blue Line (Bannan): Shandao Temple Station, Exit 3

  • Taxi: Private taxis are available directly from the airport. Travel time is about 40–50 minutes, depending on traffic, and the fare is approximately NTD 1,200.

What’s the weather like in July? What should I pack?

  • Expect hot, humid summer weather. Typical daytime highs are around 33–35°C (91–95°F) with evenings around 26–28°C (79–82°F).
  • Brief afternoon showers are common; occasional tropical storms are possible. Pack a compact umbrella or light rain jacket.
  • Most venues are air‑conditioned, which can feel cool. Bring a light sweater or jacket for indoor sessions.

What is the dress code?

  • Business casual attire is recommended for all Congress activities, including evening receptions.
  • Bring a light layer for air‑conditioned rooms.

How do I get around once I am on‑site?

  • MRT: The venue is near NTU Hospital Station (Red Line) and Shandao Temple Station (Blue Line). Trains are frequent, clean, and clearly signed in English.
  • EasyCard/iPASS: Stored‑value transit cards are convenient for MRT and buses and can be purchased and reloaded at stations and convenience stores.
  • Rideshare and taxis: Taxis are plentiful and metered. Rideshare services operate in Taipei; many hotels can also call a taxi for you.

Money, power, and connectivity tips

  • Currency: New Taiwan Dollar (NTD). Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels and larger restaurants; small shops may prefer cash.
  • ATMs: Widely available at convenience stores and banks. International cards generally work; fees vary by bank.
  • Power: Type A/B plugs, 110V, 60Hz (similar to the United States). Bring a plug adapter if needed.
  • Mobile data: eSIM and SIM options are available at the airport and in the city. Hotel Wi‑Fi is widely available.

Food and dietary needs

  • Taipei offers extensive dining options within walking distance of the venue, including vegetarian and other dietary choices.
  • If you have specific dietary needs during Congress events, please let us know in advance so we can assist.

Language and wayfinding

  • English signage is common on the MRT and at major landmarks. Staff at hotels and large restaurants typically speak English.
  • Google Maps works well for transit and walking directions.

Is tipping customary?

  • Tipping is not customary in Taiwan. Some hotels and restaurants may include a service charge on the bill.
