Hui-Ling Lin, PhD (Taiwan)
Dr. Hui-Ling Lin is a Professor of Respiratory Therapy at Chang Gung University (Taiwan) and a leading expert in aerosol medicine, respiratory therapy, and biomedical engineering. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Environmental
Science from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan (2022), an MS in Cardiopulmonary Sciences from Georgia State University, USA (2005), and a BS in Respiratory Care from Dakota State University, USA (2003). Additionally, she
earned an AS in Nursing and Midwifery from Hung Kuang University, Taiwan (1994).
With over two decades of experience, Dr. Lin has made significant contributions to aerosolized drug delivery, respiratory therapy devices, and treatment optimization for critically ill patients. Her groundbreaking research has
led to advancements in aerosol drug quantification, drug delivery during mechanical ventilation, and smart nebulizer technology. She has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications and text-book chapters, presented at international
conferences, and holds four patents in aerosol delivery systems.
Dr. Lin collaborates with leading experts in the U.S, Taiwan, and China, enhancing aerosol therapy for both spontaneously breathing and mechanically ventilated patients both in pediatric and adults. She is currently focused on
developing smart nebulizer technology to improve precision drug delivery.
Her outstanding contributions have earned her prestigious recognitions, including the Mitchell A. Baran Achievement Award for Clinical Excellence
in Aerosol and Airway Clearance Therapies (2024) and the honor of being named a Fellow of the American Association for Respiratory Care (FAARC). She serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Respiratory Therapy and is
on the editorial boards of Thoracic Medicine and Pharmaceutics, and as a General Secretary for Respiratory Therapists Society of the Republic of China (2018-2025). Additionally, she plays an active role in global respiratory
care education, serving as a panelist for the World Health Organization and the International Council of Respiratory Care.
Dr. Lin has been a member of the International Society for Aerosols in Medicine (ISAM) since 2010, following her training at the Aerosol School at McMaster University, Canada. She made her ISAM Congress debut in 2023, delivering
a workshop lecture. Currently, she is actively involved in the Congress Steering Group for the 2026 ISAM Congress in Taipei, Taiwan.
