The International Society for Aerosols in Medicine (ISAM) is dedicated to all aspects of aerosol research in medicine. This includes but is not limited to: Aerosols and Health, Pulmonary Drug Delivery and toxicological aspects of inhaled aerosols.

The organizing committee thanks our SPONSORS, speakers, and participants for a successful 19th ISAM Congress. The meeting brought together multidisciplinary excellence in both research and treatment of disease with aerosols, as represented by industry, regulatory agencies, scientists, and clinicians.
The program for ISAM 2013 included three exciting, state-of the-field pre-Congress symposia/workshops: 1) a discussion with experts from the regulatory, scientific, and clinical fields on the needs and methods to enhance accordance between outcomes of laboratory and clinical testing of orally inhaled drug products, 2) a symposium on the dual nature of inhaled nano-particles as both toxicants and potential therapeutic agents, and 3) a workshop on the basic theory and practice of aerosols for drug delivery aimed at newer members to the aerosols-in-medicine community. A full and comprehensive congress program was prepared with the help of multitudes, including the chairs of the networking groups. For this congress we also tried to enhance the participation in our networking groups by including poster discussions as part of their organizational meetings.
